There has been nothing new as far as images go as of late and that should change next week. I’ve been able to get and shoot during my travels and will share some of those images (as well as some older ones). As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve had an opportunity to try my hand at real estate photography and have secured my first client who should be able to provide with several homes/month to photograph. Depending on how things go with them I will probably at some point make this a business site and run a blog tab or something along that line. I have a few ideas but nothing concrete yet.
I don’t know if this real estate gig will turn out or if I’ll get more work because of it. While doing research, it appears to be a pretty good field to get into (and judging by what I see on the MLS, you’re work doesn’t have to be stellar  ) and would allow me to upgrade/add equipment while getting more practice time in behind the lens (and Lightroom 2 as well).

No new images for today or tomorrow as I’m swamped at work plus I took on a potential commercial project doing photography for real estate agents. I don’t know if will turn into anything but I’m pretty excited to try it out.
I don’t know why but the first thought that came into my head with this image was “the clouds look angry.” This was after a decent storm had rolled through the eastern suburbs of the Twin Cities.

Chalk this image up to seeing something that looked potentially like an interesting image but ended up being rather ordinary. I saw these bales while driving through North Dakota and at one particular angle from the road, they looked like an advancing army over the field. For whatever reason, I couldn’t replicate that angle for the shot. A bit disappointing to say the least.

I work in the insurance field (safety & risk management) and sometimes I see things that make me shake my head. FWIW, this picture has zero photographic value other than using it in a training presentation (in a nice, mocking way of course) and I needed a filler for today’s image.

The city of Devils Lake, ND had hanging baskets of flowers on every light post throughout town. All of them were taller then me so it was a nice break to take pictures of flowers looking at or up at them rather than the usual down shot.

Found this truck sitting in a field while in North Dakota this summer. The sky was pretty boring so I changed the Luminance a bit using Lightroom.

Cruising through North Dakota this summer and shot some random clouds. I ramped up the Blue saturation of the sky in Lightroom.

Here’s what the rest of the building (most of it anyway) looks like from yesterday’s post. I rested against one of the walls of the hotel I was staying at to prevent from swaying too much.

While in Omaha on business, my hotel was next to this building, which is part of a rehabbed area with new condos, offices and restaurants. The brick columns mixed with the large glass windows were too good to pass up.
