You should consider renting a wide angle lens for some interior shots of some of your homes and see what you can get that way. Also, some portable lights, and I don't mean expensive strobes... just some portable lights you can stick or hide in places to really accentuate a corner or something in a room. Since you can do it on a tripod, they don't have to be too intense and shouldn't be too different from the room's natural lighting. One of your goals should be to take classes at DSLRU. :-) What wide-angle do you have? The 28mm still?
